Decent Into Darkness - [Made in 2011]

Description

Eh- no ponies here. Was going through some files and stumbled across this piece of art. Made it back in Grade 10 for an English class - we were studying the Scottish play and had to make a creative piece to represent some theme from it.

Couldn't find the write-up I submitted with this assignment - so can't remember everything about this picture, but it was supposed to be symbolic of Macbeth's (and Lady Macbeth's) decent into corruption/ madness.

Everything was symbolic for something - from the hand shape/style (drawn in a way to represent both a male and female hand) to the color choice - but, don't feel like typing everything, so I'll leave most of it up to your interpretation.

Meh - not a perfect piece of art [though perfect is never attainable] - but, this being made around the time when I first started to get back into art (kinda gave up on art when I was 10)- it turned out decent-ish.

o.O This looks amazing, especially for a 10 year old! I remember my days of paint XD Awesome concept of using symbolism within your art too! I would imagine that the green which encases the hand (displaying it's omnipotent hold on the couple) represents the all encompassing greed that inhibits the Macbeths' mind, acting as the drive that draws forth conspiracy, lies, deceit, and murder by compelling the hand to perform such malice. Then there's scarlet red of blood that surrounds the self-indulgent proclivity entailed with greed which stains their hands and their conscious, curtailing the purity and innocence of their characters leading to their eventual demise. Regardless, simply a marvelous work that you have procured here! ^_^ Can't wait to see more of your epic works, pony or non-pony!
